Supporters of Ten Bucks Theatre want you to get yourself ready to audition for its next production, “Fawlty Towers Meets Monty Python, Part Duh (Now it’s Personal.)”
Julie Arnold Lisnet reports the play will open for 12 performances on Jan. 24 and run through Feb. 10. She asks that prospective actors “please prepare a comic monologue and-or do a cold reading from the script,” and warns you that “English accents [are] necessary.”
Auditions will be conducted from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, and from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, with callbacks, as necessary, from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, “between Friends Gift Shop and Art Center located at 39 Center Street in Brewer.”

An e-mail to the Bangor Daily News from Ron Hansen asks that we inform readers a reunion is being planned for members of the military who served aboard the USS Harry E. Hubbard DD-748.
The reunion is April 17-20 in Baltimore, Md.
“We have a few shipmates in your area,” Hansen believes and, if you are one of them, he urges you to contact Mike Caruccio, at 717-235-5768, to learn more about the reunion.
My sincerest sympathies are extended to Sandra Blake Leonard on the unexpected death, last week, of her husband, attorney Ted Leonard.
My first and last memories of Ted are nearly identical: a smiling man with an imposing presence, many years ago, strolling across the University of Maine campus to join others heading for class; and, most recently, that same smiling man strolling into a room to join others in celebrating the life of our community.
Ted’s smile, from my perspective, became more expansive and contented as he aged.
Somehow, I believe that sense of contentment came not only from the life he and Sandra shared, but also from the life that they were able to share with their community: A life that helped make this a welcoming place for young and old to enjoy everything from the arts to recreation.
As a community, we are grateful for his contributions to its cultural vitality, his volunteer service in the nonprofit sector, and the opportunities that each of his interests provide those who live here.
