A 27-year-old woman involved in single-car accident just before 8 p.m. Monday on the Marsh Stream Road in Frankfort was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Trooper Jonah O’Roak confirmed by phone from the scene.
The woman, who is from the Frankfort area, apparently lost control of her four-door Honda Accord and went off the roadway striking two trees, he said.
The LifeFlight helicopter landed at the nearby baseball field on the Loggin Road. The condition of the woman, whose name was not immediately released, was unknown late Monday, but she reportedly was partially ejected from her vehicle in the collision. She was the lone occupant.
Ambulance and fire crews from Winterport and Frankfort assisted at the scene, along with deputies from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Department.

University of Maine Public Safety officials are investigating two fires that were started early Monday morning inside Dumpsters on the Orono campus, according to UM spokesman Joe Carr.
The fires occurred right after the Red Sox won the World Series but before a scheduled victory celebration and bonfire began at the university.
Orono fire crews went to the incident scenes outside Somerset and Knox halls. No one was injured, and the flames quickly were extinguished. (Aimee Dolloff, BDN)
