Acadia National Park lists winter schedule

ACADIA NATIONAL PARK – The Hulls Cove Visitor Center and Sand Beach Entrance Station closed for the season on Oct. 31. Information is available daily at the Winter Visitor Center at park headquarters on Route 233 except Thanksgiving Day, Dec. 24 and 25, and Jan. 1. Also closed are the Islesford Historical Museum, the Nature Center at Sieur de Monts Spring, Seawall Campground and the Jordan Pond House.

The Park Loop Road will close Dec. 1 pending no major snowstorm. When closed, two miles will be left open from Schooner Head overlook to Otter Cliff Road. Access to this section is via Schooner Head Road in Bar Harbor.

Camping at Blackwoods Campground is primitive tent camping only from Dec. 1 to March 31. The access road to Blackwoods will not be open or plowed. Camping will be free of charge during these dates but a permit must be obtained at park headquarters on Route 233 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily.
