BANGOR – Many of the state’s top high school volleyball players will converge on Husson College’s Newman Gymnasium on Saturday evening for the annual East-West Senior All-Star Showcase.

Warmups are set for 5:30 p.m., followed at 6 p.m. by recognition of the all-academic and all-star teams and the showcase matches.

The East squad will be coached by Todd Brophy of Mount Desert Island and Rich Nutter of Woodland, and will include three members of the Eastern Maine champion MDI Trojans: Mariah Grover, Erika Kane and Carissa Turner.

The West team will be coached by Kelvin Hasch of Greely of Cumberland Center and Ruth Shaw of Biddeford, and features three members from the 2007 state champion Greely team: Sarah Lockhart, Erika Zambello and Lida Munroe.

Admission to the showcase is free.
