Jacob is a fun-loving, active child born in December 1998. Jacob enjoys outdoor activities including swimming, hiking and riding his bike. He loves to go out to eat with his foster family and is willing to try new things. Jacob has a wonderful collection of Pokemon cards and enjoys showing them off.

Jacob attends public school. He receives special services in school to help him with his academics, as well as occupational and speech therapy. Jacob occasionally struggles with in his relations with other kids his age, but he is working hard on that. He does well with younger children.

Jacob will thrive in a home where there is healthy structure and consistency. Jacob enjoys being active, so a family that is willing to keep him busy would be best. If there are other children in the home, it would be best if they were not close to the same age as Jacob.

An adoption subsidy may be available to the most appropriate family.

Jacob is among more than 100 children in the care of the state Department of Health and Human Services seeking an adoptive family. Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.

For information about children available for adoption, contact A Family for ME toll free at 1-877-505-0545 or visit www.AFamilyForMe.org and see the gallery of photographs of some of the many children awaiting a “forever family.”
