DEER ISLE – With an alert for hurricane force winds and heavy rains, the Step It Up! By Land and Sea climate action walks from Blue Hill and Stonington to the Deer Isle causeway beach have been canceled.
The Step It Up! Climate Action Teach-in at Deer Isle’s Reach Performing Arts Center at 1 p.m. Sunday remains on track.
The Step It Up! climate action events taking place throughout the country this weekend are supposed to focus on creating a sweeping national mobilization for climate solutions, energy independence and healthy communities.
