Leaders in the fields of economic development, arts and education will convene in Rockland and Camden this Friday and Saturday for the state’s second conference on the creative economy.

Juice: Powering the Creative Economy, A Maine Action Summit, will open Friday and continue Saturday at the Strand Theater in Rockland and the Camden Opera House. Among the topics of discussion will be supporting traditional, artistic and technological businesses, retaining young people in Maine and creating vibrant downtown areas.

The event is open to the public and is organized by the Midcoast Magnet, a group of young professionals, and midcoast members of the Governor’s Creative Economy Council. Bangor Savings Bank is the primary sponsor.

Registration is preferred. The cost to attend is $115 per person and includes admission to all events and sessions on Friday and Saturday, including admission to the opening party, breakfast, snacks and a box lunch.
