Religion in Brief BANGOR: BEING CATHOLIC

An informal session for people interested in learning more about Roman Catholicism will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at St. John’s Catholic Church on York Street. The session, one of several planned in Greater Bangor over the next 10 months, is designed for people who might be interested in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, according to Susan Moore of Bangor. “It’s an opportunity for people to get their feet wet and to decide if this is where they want to be before they commit to the RCIA program,” she said. RCIA classes begin in September and culminate during Easter week when new Catholics are confirmed. For information about the program at St. John’s, call Moore, 447-0228, or Judy Donaher, 989-0550, or Val Eisworth, 989-5171.
