UMaine forward House is now serving six-game suspension

ORONO – University of Maine freshman center Tanner House, who was suspended indefinitely after being charged with unlawful sexual touching and assault at 103 Ultra Lounge on Nov. 4, has had his suspension changed to six games by university officials.

House is scheduled to appear on Dec. 13 at 3rd District Court in Bangor.

House has already served two games of his suspension and he will sit out two more games this weekend when Maine visits Merrimack College for a two-game set. He will also miss the Nov. 25 game against Vermont and the Dec. 1 exhibition game against the University of New Brunswick.

He will be eligible to return on Dec. 8 against Merrimack at the Alfond Arena in Orono

House has been practicing with the team since the incident, in which he allegedly grabbed a female patron’s breast.

“Nothing has changed. We’re still waiting for closure,” said Maine coach Tim Whitehead. “Tanner is a great kid who made a bad decision.”

Whitehead said in addition to practicing with the team, House has used his time off to “focus on his studies.”

House had a goal and an assist in seven games and was used in all situations. He was on the power play and penalty-killing units.
