UMS head to speak at national meeting

University of Maine System Chancellor Richard Pattenaude has been selected to deliver the President-to-President lecture at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities annual meeting in San Francisco.

About 200 presidents and chancellors from around the country will attend the meeting, which runs from Sunday, Nov. 18, to Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Pattenaude served for two years on the AASCU Task Force on Public Engagement and four years on the board of directors and the Committee on Policies and Purposes.

The President-to-President lecture has been a tradition at the annual meeting for more than 30 years that is bestowed on one of the members by the board of directors.

The chosen speaker generally addresses colleagues on leadership based on his own experience. Pattenaude will discuss “Finding Joy in the Journey” at the luncheon on Nov. 19.
