After spending time with Cavan and Zach, it is easy to see that they have a very good relationship. They are athletic, energetic and thoughtful boys who have a lot in common, but several differences as well.
Cavan, born in 1994 is the oldest of the brothers. Cavan loves football and the New England Patriots. Tedy Bruschi is his favorite player. Cavan is excited to play football on his middle school team this year. He also likes baseball and hopes to play on a team next season. Cavan likes to skateboard and play video games in his free time.
The professionals who work with Cavan say he is a funny, sweet boy who likes to talk. He likes school and does well particularly in math. His least favorite subject is history. Cavan says that he gets frustrated in school sometimes and he “lets the little things add up.” This is something he is working on and he says is getting better.
Zachary, born in 1995, is a big WWE professional wrestling fan. His favorite star in sports entertainment is John Cena. If he could go anywhere on a vacation, he would choose WrestleMania. Like his brother, Zach also likes baseball. He was on a team over the summer and is proud of how well he did during the season. His favorite professional baseball team is the Boston Red Sox and Jason Varitek is his favorite player.
Zachary is on the honor roll at school. He loves spelling, but does not like math. He does well in school and says he likes it. During his free time, Zach likes to play video games and watch movies. He has seen all the Harry Potter movies. Zach is also a big swimmer. He will swim anywhere, a lake, pool or the ocean are all fine with him.
Cavan and Zach are among more than 100 children in the care of the state Department of Health and Human Services seeking an adoptive family. Adoption subsidy may be available to the most appropriate family. Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
