Everyone is welcome, said Errol Hunt who, in memory and honor of his mother, hosts a free, public Thanksgiving Day Dinner, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 22, at the Smoki-Haulers Clubhouse off Interstate 95 in Oakfield.

Hunt, with contributions from the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club and the Knowles Corner 4-Wheelers, will have a full turkey and pork dinner for all who want to celebrate this special day in our country’s history.

Beth Lambert e-mailed the What’s For Suppa Food Pantry will be open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the Mariaville Grange Hall, to serve “those in need” in Mariaville, Otis, Aurora, Osborn, Great Pond and Amherst.

Lambert reports “the pantry is stocked with dry goods, canned goods, fresh meat and Thanksgiving meal items.”

Penquis Valley High School of Milo Class of 1977 hosts its 30th reunion at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Sea Dog restaurant in Bangor.

A very lovely young woman, Laurie Stevenson of Bangor, whom I have known since she and my children started school together, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Laurie and her husband, Kevin Stevenson, have four children, Courtney, Lindsey, Kyle and Michaela.

To help the family with expenses during Laurie’s treatments, friends and teen members of the local Sub Deb Sorority are hosting a benefit spaghetti dinner and silent auction, from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer.

The class conducts fundraisers “to assist international volunteer projects,” they wrote of their work ranging from an adopt-a-village program in rural China to an after-school program in Guatemala.

Regular readers may have noticed my column has been “abundantly stuffed” the past few days.

That’s because my husband and I are preparing to enjoy our “abundantly stuffed” turkey in Minnesota this week.
