GORHAM – The University of Southern Maine Huskies shot 14-for-27 in the second half and outscored visiting Bates College of Lewiston 37-23 en route to a 76-57 women’s basketball victory Tuesday.
Stacey Kent paced Southern Maine, which led 39-34 at halftime, with 20 points and seven rebounds. Kaylie DeMillo contributed 16 points and Josalee Danieli chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.
Sarah Barton led Bates with 13 points while Lauren Yanofsky added 10 more.

At Gorham, Presque Isle’s Greg Whitaker led three University of Southern Maine players in double figures with 18 points as the Huskies held off Bates College of Lewiston.
Whitaker also grabbed eight rebounds while Josh Daniels tossed in 17 points and Drew Coppenrath 11 for the winners.
Brian Ellis sparked Bates with 17 points. Pat Halloran notched 13 while Bryan Wholey and Jimmy O’Keefe contributed 10 apiece.
