Honor for home health

BANGOR – Bangor Area Visiting Nurses has for the second year in a row been named to the 2007 HomeCare Elite, a compilation of the most successful Medicare-certified home health care providers in the United States. The annual review identifies the top 25 percent of agencies, ranked by an analysis of quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance.

“Being noted as one of the top performers in the nation in this very competitive environment shows that Bangor Area Visiting Nurses is dedicated to quality and performance,” said Bill Bassett, senior director of market strategy at OCS Inc.

Bangor Area Visiting Nurses, a part of the Eastern Maine HomeCare Family, credits the dedication of the clinical staff and the behind-the-scenes support of office staff with the company’s ability to rank as one of the HomeCare Elite.

Helen Genco, COO and vice president, said, “Our staff is committed to our patients and their families. They work hard every day to support the goals and outcomes of every patient and family we serve.”

The 2007 HomeCare Elite is the only performance recognition of its kind in the home health industry. The entire list of the 2007 HomeCare Elite agencies may be viewed by visiting www.ocsys.com.
