HERMON – Messalonskee Middle School Principal Mark Hatch has been recognized as Administrator of the Year by the Maine Association of School Libraries. The announcement was made at the association’s annual meeting Saturday, Nov. 10, at Hermon High School.

Hatch has been a strong advocate of the library media center program, advocating for an increase in the book and audiovisual budget to provide materials that will further encourage reading, the use of the library media center, and integrate library skills into the curriculum. He has encouraged the library media specialist to become a leader in the school community.

Hatch was presented with a plaque in recognition of this award. The group also made a $500 donation in his honor to the library media program at Messalonskee Middle School.
