Lubec Campobello Theatre to stage ‘Moons’

What delightful news I have to share with you from Donna Vineyard who wrote “the Lubec Campobello Community Theatre has another show ready.”

The performance is “Many Moons” by James Thurber, and the shows begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 1, in the Lubec Cafetorium.

Tickets at the door are $5.

Vineyard wrote the production is “a sweet, little story about a princess who wants something so badly it makes her ill.

“There are Wise Men and their wives, a King, a Jester, a nurse and a goldsmith’s daughter.”

Vineyard explained “three of the actors are children from the same family,” with Mary Briggs as Princess Lenore; new Eagle Scout Hoty Briggs as the Wizard, and the youngest trouper, Ezra Briggs, as the Mathematician.

Co-directing with Sarah Dalton Phillips, Vineyard wrote “the wonderful thing about this show is that the whole cast is helping do everything from setting up the stage each time we rehearse, to assisting each other with costumes.”

Using “a minimal set with some nice, little touches of decor,” Vineyard said “it’s been a fun show to produce,” and she wants you to know one of the founders of the troupe, and one “who has been in every production and planning session” for the theater, Gerard Bourque, “plays the King.”
