STANDISH – Meghan Daigle led four Saint Joseph’s College players in double figures with a game-high 17 points as the Monks defeated the College of St. Joseph of Vermont 66-60 in the first round of the Merry Monk Women’s Basketball Classic Friday.
Allison Winter scored 13 points and Carolyn Freeman had 12 while Erin Cartwright chipped in with 11 for the host Monks.
Tahara Pleasure paced the College of St. Joseph with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Hamill Bassue scored 15 points while Gediminas Sumyla, Edmundas Akstinas and Othniel Hyliger each chipped in with 10 for the Bengals.
Thomas was led by Isaiah Brathwaite with 18 points. Andrew Duncanson had 17 points while Darrell Alexander added 14 for the Terriers.
