CARIBOU – The rail beds from Washburn and Caribou north to Van Buren are snow-covered and have had traffic.

Fort Kent has packed a bit to begin developing a base, but remember that logging, water and fallen trees from ice and wind will be a problem.

Most logging operations have not changed over to their winter harvest, so trails that normally would be full of snowmobiles are right now full of logging equipment.

Most projects won’t be able to get signage out for a couple of weeks.

The heavy rains that fell a couple of weeks ago in the southern and central areas have caused swamps and other low-lying zones to flood.
