The University of Maine women’s and men’s track teams were picked to finish fifth and sixth, respectively, in the America East coaches preseason poll.

The Black Bears women received 31 points in the voting, which gave the nod to Boston University (61 points, six first-place votes) to win the championship.

Albany placed second (56 points, two first-place votes), followed by New Hampshire (54, 1), Binghamton (37), Maine (31), Vermont (29), Maryland Baltimore County (26), Stony Brook (22) and Hartford (8).

The UMaine men received 30 points in the voting, which made Albany the favorite with 64 points and eight first-place votes.

New Hamphire (one first-place vote) and Boston University tied for second with 52 points, followed by Binghamton (38), UMBC (33), Maine (30), Stony Brook (26), Vermont (21) and Hartford (8).
