We stand corrected – and other tasty news

The holiday desserts class at Cheryl Wixson’s Kitchen was incorrectly listed in the last edition of Tidbits. The date is Dec. 13. In other news, Wixson will hold a Holiday Open Kitchen Series from noon to 6 p.m. Mondays in December. The public is invited to stop by for lunch or a quick supper- and soup is always on. Wixson also will offer a selection of cookware, organic Maine products, cheeses, environmentally friendly cleaning supplies, candles, cottage wares, gifts, breads and baked goods available, and special orders are accepted. Cheryl Wixson’s Kitchen is located at 91 West Broadway in Bangor. For information, call 947-0892 or visit www.cherylwixsonskitchen.org.

MmmmmmMilo…

Looks like it’s time for a foodie road trip: Valerie Jean’s American Bistro in Milo will serve a selection of English treats for its Taste of the World dinners, Wednesday nights in December. The meal, which costs $30 per person, will feature an appetizer of Fish and Chips, Cockaleekie soup with Cheddar Scones, Roasted Prime Rib with Yorkshire Pudding and a dessert of Christmas Plum Pudding with Creme Anglaise. The $9.95, three-course Italian Sunday dinners continue this month, and a New Year’s celebration is on tap – more on that in a later edition of Tidbits. For more information or to reserve a table (recommended), call 943-7470.
