Cheerleading for kids

ORONO – The Orono Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for its cheerleading program.

Children will learn the basics of cheerleading with chances to cheer at recreation games.

The program is open to children in grades third through fifth. Practice will be held 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, starting Dec. 11.

The fee is $25, including a T-shirt. For information, contact the recreation office at 866-5065.

GYM-Mini Crickets

ORONO – The Orono Parks and Recreation Department has announced the return of “GYM-Mini Crickets” preschool fun time.

“Crickets” is held 9-11 a.m. Mondays at the Keith Anderson Community House.

Toys, balls, mats, hula hoops, games and more are provided for parents and their preschool children to enjoy a fun play time out of the cold.
