Brewer Patrol Officer Liz Kelley is investigating another weekend theft, this one involving the removal of catalytic converters from 10 vehicles at Brewer Auto Auction on Sparks Avenue. Kelley said the thefts are believed to have occurred between late Saturday night and Sunday morning, when they were discovered and reported by the business owner. A dollar value for the missing parts was not available Sunday.

This weekend’s theft of catalytic converters is among many reported to police in recent months. The parts contain a trio of metals, namely platinum, rhodium and palladium, that have a relatively high scrap value and can be sold on the scrap market for $5 to $100. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
