In just a matter of hours, thieves stripped an Atkinson home of its copper piping last week.
The homeowner had left her house on Monday morning after checking on her animals. Returning home later in the day, the homeowner attempted to draw water for the animals but none came from the faucet. When she went to investigate, she discovered all of the pipes had been removed from the home, according to Investigator Guy Dow of the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department.
Dow also is investigating a Dec. 9 break-in at a homeowner’s garage in Kingsbury Plantation where about 9 gallons of gasoline and dry gas was stolen. Dow said a lock was broken to gain entry into the garage on Campbell Hill Road. (Diana Bowley, BDN)
