Lawyer Ralph Lancaster is listed in the fifth edition of The International Who’s Who of Commercial Litigation 2008, published this month by Law Business Research Ltd., the official research partner of the International Bar Association. A native of Bangor, Lancaster is a partner at Pierce Atwood LLP in Portland and a resident of Falmouth. He is listed among 472 litigators from around the world, each selected after researchers collected and analyzed opinions of law firm clients and litigators in 50 jurisdictions in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean and South Africa. Also this year, Lancaster completed his third U.S. Supreme Court special master assignment. The justices appointed him to help settle a border dispute between New Jersey and Delaware. Lancaster also served as special master in the cases of Virginia v. Maryland in 2001 and New Jersey v. Nevada in 1987. For more than 40 years, Lancaster has litigated criminal and civil cases in Maine and Massachusetts and before the U.S. District Court for those districts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit.

Robert St. Louis, a mortgage professional at Nexus Mortgage Group in Pittsfield, has been recognized nationally as a certified residential mortgage specialist, the first in Maine. The certification is gained once the candidate has met certain requirements of experience and knowledge of the mortgage industry and has passed a rigorous exam. The National Association of Mortgage Brokers administers the tests. St. Louis has been a mortgage professional for seven years. He is a member of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, a not-for-profit organization promoting professionalism within the business. He is also a member of the Sebasticook Valley Chamber of Commerce and has served as the treasurer and an officer for the Maine Association of Mortgage Brokers for the past two years.
