FREEPORT – Richmond residents should drink up – and savor their water.
Water from the Richmond Utilities District won the Maine Rural Water Association’s 20th water taste test on Wednesday in Freeport.
North Berwick Water District won for best chlorinated water, while Richmond’s water won in the “au naturel” category.
Steve Levy of the Maine Rural Water Association says Richmond then took best of show in a “vigorous head-to-head competition.”
He says Richmond’s secret is “God’s work and good operation and management.” As victor, Richmond will represent Maine in a national taste test in April.
