Man charged with indecency

John Toolin, 50, a Bangor area transient who is known to local police, was arrested for public indecency Friday after he reportedly urinated on the wall of the Bangor Police Department lobby.

Sgt. Allen Hayden said Toolin was intoxicated at the time and did not know where he was. A restroom is located in the lobby. Toolin was taken to Penobscot County Jail. By Sunday he had been released, a jail official said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

A 50-year-old Louisiana man was so intoxicated that he was escorted out of Hollywood Slots early Sunday evening, but he then was seen cleaning off his vehicle and driving away, according to the Bangor Police Department. Bangor police stopped James Panarello around 5:15 p.m. and arrested him for operating under the influence. An Intoxilyzer test showed his blood alcohol level at 0.27. Panarello was taken to Penobscot County Jail and was released Monday on bail. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

Police summoned a female University of Maine student Sunday night after she allegedly got into an argument and struck another woman.

The two women were walking at about 7:30 p.m. near Shibles Hall when Michaela Luke, 21, residence unknown, hit the other woman in the face, UM spokesman Joe Carr said Monday.

The victim called police and Luke was issued a summons by UM Public Safety for assault. Police didn’t state what the controversy was about. (Aimee Dolloff, BDN)

Raena Everett, 45, who owns Raena’s Pub on Larkin Street in Bangor, and Malcolm Buswell, 55, both of Levant, were arrested late Dec. 9 after forcing their way into a Bangor apartment owned by Everett but rented by a local man, according to Bangor police.

They threatened to harm the 40-year-old man who rented from Everett, according to Sgt. Bob Bishop of the Bangor Police Department.

Both Everett and Buswell were arrested for criminal trespass and taken to Penobscot County Jail after the 9 p.m. incident. Buswell also was charged with criminal threatening.

Both made bail and are restricted from entering the apartment without police present, Bishop said. Both Everett and Buswell are scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court in Bangor on Jan. 17, a jail official said Monday. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
