A Page 1 article in the Dec. 1-2 edition of the BDN erroneously described some events leading up to a complex land deal involving the state and Roxanne Quimby. Gardner Land Co. of Lincoln and the nonprofit Trust for Public Land continued to negotiate the sale of 8,000-plus acres in the Wassataquoik Valley after Gardner Land rejected the initial offer last spring. The Trust for Public Land was negotiating in partnership with the state. The two sides later reached a sale agreement. But in November, the Trust for Public Land and the state released the option on the “Valley Lands” to Quimby. In return, the Trust for Public Land and the state secured an option from Quimby to purchase roughly 5,000 acres and conservation easements on an additional 6,647 acres.
In an obituary for Dan Fogelberg on Dec. 17, The Associated Press erroneously identified the company that issued the statement about his death. It was Scoop Marketing.
