BANGOR – Airport officials announced Thursday the flight times for when the Delta Connection partner Comair takes over the Bangor to Boston route from Big Sky Airlines.
Comair will begin its twice-daily flights to Boston on Tuesday, Jan. 8, departing Bangor International Airport at 6:10 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. Return flights to BIA will depart Boston at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., according to a press release. Comair will use 50-seat passenger jets to fly the route, rather than the 19-seat turbo-propelled planes that Big Sky had used.
Big Sky announced on Tuesday that it would cease its East Coast operations on Jan. 7, which would include its six daily flights from Bangor to Boston. Hours after Big Sky’s announcement, Delta Air Lines indicated that Comair’s jet would replace the departing airlines’ route to Boston. Comair and Big Sky were both connection partners with Delta.
Delta reservation agents will contact any customers holding Big Sky tickets for travel dates after Jan. 7, according to Anthony Black, a Delta spokesman. Delta will refund the tickets or work to reroute passengers to other flights. Customers also can call Delta directly at 800-221-1212.
