OXFORD – A store owner in Oxford has received an outpouring of nearly $5,000 from people upset over someone stealing $67 from a donation jar last month.

Gary Paladino discovered on Nov. 23 that somebody had broken into Dino’s Variety and taken a jar with donations for an Oxford Elementary School PTA fundraiser

Since then, Paladino has received more than 75 letters of support from across the country and Canada with contributions totaling nearly $5,000 – with more money coming in daily.

Paladino says he’s overwhelmed by the support, which has allowed the Christmas for Kids fundraiser to give more toys and clothes for needy children.
