BOYS

Big School (Classes A-B)

DEREK LIBBEY

Libbey, a senior guard for the Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln boys basketball team, led the Lynx to two victories to help coach Rick Sinclair’s club enter the Christmas break undefeated. Libbey had 26 points in a 58-46 win over Hermon, followed by 23 points in a 63-58 victory at previously unbeaten Caribou.

Small School (Classes C-D)

JOEY HUNTER

Hunter, a senior center for the Washington Academy of East Machias boys basketball team, averaged a double-double to help the Raiders to a 2-1 week. He had 10 points and 10 rebounds in a win 77-59 over previously unbeaten Narraguagus of Harrington, 16 points and eight rebounds in an 88-74 loss to unbeaten Calais, and 18 points and 12 rebounds in a 79-63 win over Machias.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

MACKENZIE DEGRAFF

DeGraff, a junior on the Brewer indoor track and field team, won three events as the Witches took an EMITL meet Friday. She won the 55-meter dash in a time of 7.95 seconds, the long jump in 15 feet, 6 inches, and the triple jump in 33 feet, 5 inches. All three results lead the league this season.

Small School (Classes C-D)

SARAH RIOPEL

Riopel, a senior guard for the Greater Houlton Christian Academy girls basketball team, led the Eagles to two wins last week. She scored 17 points, including the winning basket with about 30 seconds left, on Wednesday to lift 5-0 GHCA to a 47-45 win over Katahdin of Stacyville. Riopel had a team-high 12 points Thursday in a 50-33 win over Wisdom of St. Agatha.
