Brunswick police stop man threatening wife

BRUNSWICK – Police in Brunswick subdued a man with a Taser after he allegedly chased his wife with a butcher knife and smashed her car window so he could get to her.

Victor Perez, 24, a Navy medical corpsman who recently returned from combat duty in Iraq, was charged with attempted murder after his arrest Thursday.

Brunswick police were called to naval air station housing after a woman called and said her husband was chasing her with a butcher knife and she was hiding in the car. The caller also said she feared for her two small children.

When police arrived they told Perez to drop the knife. When he began to follow her, an officer fired the Taser, which knocked Perez to the ground. He was also charged terrorizing and assault.
