HODGDON – Chris Williams scored 19 points, including four three-pointers, and Daniel McGillicuddy contributed 16 points and grabbed 18 rebounds as Hodgdon rallied from a six-point first-quarter deficit to upend Van Buren 60-55 in high school boys basketball action Friday.

Andrew McGillicuddy, Daniel’s twin brother, added 13 points and Robert Crane netted eight more.

Ben Doucette’s game-high 22 points and Alex Martin’s 14 topped Van Buren and Derek Rossignol scored eight.

Dakota Sleeper had 13 points for the winners and Tyler Robinson had 11 more.

Nick McIntosh’s 17 points and Cody Frank’s 11 led Washburn.

At Brewer, the Dragons raced out to a 16-2 lead and got 14 points from guard Hilary Champagne en route to a win over the Witches.

Claire Baecher, one of two 6-foot-2 Brunswick starting centers, added 13 points and 11 rebounds. She scored seven in the final 5 minutes, 4 seconds of the third quarter.

Mardi Artis, the other 6-2 center, chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.

Brewer went 0-for-9 from the floor in the third quarter to allow a 14-point Dragon lead. But a 14-4 run, capped by a Leah Jackson jumper, helped the Witches cut the lead to 20-16.

Brunswick pumped its advantage back up to nine points by halftime and three unanswered baskets early in the third made it 34-21.

Katie Kenney and Sheri Valley each had 10 points and eight rebounds for Brewer.
