Boothbay High School sophomore Matthew Forgues won the boys one-mile racewalk Saturday in the Brown University Invitational at Providence, R.I., with a time of 7 minute, 29.46 seconds.

Lisbon High junior Tyler Campbell was second in 8:15.89.

On Thursday at Pharr, Texas, University of Maine sophomore Lauren Forgues of Boothbay won the women’s division of the largest judged one-mile racewalk with a time of 7:44. Edward Little High sophomore Christie Bernier of Auburn was timed in 8:54 and finished ninth while Mt. Blue High School freshman Emily Reed of Farmington was 13th (9:27).

On Friday, Bernier placed second in the largest judged 5K racewalk with a time of 29:20 and Reed logged a personal-best time of 32:29 to finish fifth.
