Free dance workshops rescheduled in Bangor

BANGOR – Free dance workshops at the School of Robinson Ballet that were canceled this weekend because of the snowstorm have been rescheduled.

They will be held Saturday with new instructor Stevie Dunham at the school’s studio above the Greyhound bus station in downtown Bangor. Dunham will begin teaching jazz, tap and modern dance on Monday, Jan. 8.

Dunham, who grew up in Greater Bangor and has performed with Robinson Ballet and the Penobscot Theatre Company, has taught dance to children and adults for more than seven years in Bangor and in Richmond, Va.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va. Dunham trained with the Boston Ballet, Bates Dance Festival and Florida Dance Festival.

The free dance workshops are limited to 30 participants, so registration is required.

These workshops will be held Saturday:

. 9:30-10:30 a.m.: modern dance for younger dancers.

. 10:45 a.m.-noon: jazz for younger dancers.

. 1-2:15 p.m.: modern dance for experienced dancers.

. 2:30-4 p.m.: jazz for experienced dancers.
