DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Penquis Child Care Resource Development Center will offer 24 hours of training in Maine Early Childhood Learning Guidelines at its offices at 50 North St. Classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, and from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays, Jan. 28 through March 10. The state’s early childhood learning guidelines were developed for children ages 3 to 5 as a precursor to the Maine Learning Results for kindergarten through grade 12. Session topics include an introduction to the guidelines, integrating guidelines into current curriculums, adapting guidelines to children with special needs, observation and assessment of young children using the guidelines, and sharing them with families.
