Big School (Classes A-B)

JUSTIN GILMARTIN

Gilmartin, a senior on the MDI swimming team, won two individual events and swam on two winning relays as the Trojans scored 138 points to finish first at the Morse Invitational Friday. Gilmartin won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 49.84 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 55.28, led off the winning 200 medley relay (1:46.30) and anchored MDI’s victorious 200 free relay (1:35.29).

Small School (Classes C-D)

CAMERON YORK

A senior guard for the Central Aroostook of Mars Hill basketball team, York led the Panthers with 23 points in a 58-27 victory over Easton in a Dec. 31 meeting of undefeated teams. Central Aroostook moved to 5-0.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

BRIANNA HANSCOM

A senior center for the Mattanawcook of Lincoln basketball team, Hanscom averaged 16.5 points per game as the Lynx picked up two wins. She scored 19 in a 52-26 win over Presque Isle on Dec. 29 and 14 on Dec. 27 in a 62-20 victory over Ellsworth. Mattanawcook is now 6-0.

Small School (Classes C-D)

SARAH LONG

Long, a senior center on the Central Aroostook of Mars Hill girls basketball team, led the Panthers to two wins. She scored 35 points, including 22 in the second half, to go with 18 rebounds in a 53-28 victory over Katahdin of Stacyville on Dec. 28. Long tossed in a game-high 18 points in a 56-7 victory over Easton on Dec. 31.
