Paul sparks Riots

ORONO – Brandon Paul had a hat trick with three goals as Orono defeated Presque Isle 4-3 in high school hockey action Wednesday night at Alfond Arena.

Luke Estes posted the other score for the 2-5 Red Riots. Nathan Curtis, Ben Perry, Chad Evinger and Jake Doing provided assists. David Eugley stopped 24 of 27 shots.

Greg Cyr made it 4-3 with a third-period buzzer beater for 3-4-1 Presque Isle. Zac Campbell and Brennan Shaw also scored. Brandon Daigle provided two assists and Parker Hovey had one. Ethan Hill made 21 saves on 25 shots.

Hampden 4, Camden Hills 2

At T.J. Ryan Center in Brewer, Josh Tardiff scored a goal and assisted another to help lead Hampden Academy past Camden Hills of Rockport.

Cody MacAllister, Taylor McGraw and Sam McNutt scored for the 3-2 Broncos. Cory Morin, Charles Rawcliffe, Kurt Hiller and Nate Rocker provided assists. Jacob Ward blocked 13 of 15 shots.

Winsor Williams had a goal and an assist for 0-5 Camden Hills. Josh Stanclift added a goal while Jake Zontini turned away 34 of 38 shots.

Boys basketball

Caribou 46, Presque Isle 42

At Caribou, Cameron Anderson scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth quarter to lift Caribou over Presque Isle.

Phil St. Peter had 13 points for the Vikings and Ben Rosser added 12 points.

Adam Kingsbury scored a game-high 23 points to lead Presque Isle and Russ Mortland had 11 points.
