Woman cited in OUI twice in two weeks

Bangor police received a report of a vehicle off the side of the road along Ohio Street just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, and upon arriving discovered the woman driver was intoxicated, Sgt. Bob Bishop said Wednesday.

Sonja Dewitt, 32, of Bangor was inside the running car uninjured. Police performed a field sobriety test on Dewitt – which she failed – and then arrested her for operating under the influence, according to Bishop. He said an Intoxilyzer test measured her blood-alcohol level at 0.20. Maine’s legal blood-alcohol limit for driving is 0.08 percent.

Dewitt also was arrested for OUI two weeks ago on Main Street, Bishop said.

After her arrest Tuesday, Dewitt was taken to Penobscot County Jail. She was released on $500 cash bail Wednesday. Dewitt is scheduled to appear in 3rd District Court in Bangor on Feb. 4. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
