It was back to work Wednesday and now I am recovering from a week of rest, relaxation and reality TV.
The Man on the Couch and I quickly discovered that during the holidays there isn’t much on TV except reruns, Christmas movies and marathons (of reruns). And yes, we found a few that got us hooked into watching all of the episodes, including E!’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
I had avoided the show before, not realizing exactly who the Kardashian family was and how they made their money. It was all over after we watched the first episode and were drawn into the drama, glitz, and everyday ups and downs of the Kardashian-Jenner family.
Daughter Kim is the focus of most episodes. She’s the daughter of Kris Jenner and the late defense attorney Robert Kardashian, defender of the stars.
A favorite of the tabloids,
there is constant activity in Kim’s life, including sex tapes and photos, pictures for Playboy, and the family’s clothing business she runs with her sisters and mom. Mama Jenner also serves as Kim’s agent, which usually leads to a spat or two that makes it worth tuning in.
While away from the office, I managed to do a little more than sit in front of the TV all day and made one New Year’s resolution that I’m hoping you’ll help me with. The Reality Bites blog on the BDN Web site hasn’t been updated as often as it should be, so I’m vowing to post something new at least once each week. My e-mail inbox usually is flooded with reality tidbits that don’t make it into the weekly column, so it’s not that there isn’t any news, it’s that I need to make time to give you the latest reality scoop.
I also would love to hear from you, and the best way to do that is post a comment or two on the site.
Also, a reminder that the episode of “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” filmed last fall in Milbridge will be aired at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, on ABC. There also will be a half-hour local show revealing some of the behind-the-scenes activity starting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Don’t forget to check it out or set those recorders.
