At the Bangor Auditorium, Hillary Laferriere’s dominant third quarter helped power the undefeated Crusaders to their eighth win.
Laferriere scored 18 of her game-high 20 points as John Bapst gained separation from the Red Devils of Corinth, who were down just four points at halftime.
The senior forward went 1-for-4 from the field in the first half, but hit six of her eight attempts in the third quarter. She also went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the third period.
Laferriere upped her rebounding in that quarter as well, with seven of her 16 boards in the period after just four in the first half.
Senior guard Eve Jordan contributed 15 points for the Crusaders and junior center Samantha pulled down 14 rebounds, including nine in the fourth quarter.
Bapst’s 2-3 zone defense limited Central (2-5) to six points in the second half. Freshman center Rebekah Campbell paced the Devils with nine points and 14 rebounds. Jocelyn Portmann contributed eight rebounds.

At Red Barry Gymnasium in Bangor, the unbeaten Rams outscored Messalonskee of Oakland 23-5 over the final 10 minutes of the first half and cruised to victory.
Bangor, the No. 1 seed in Eastern A, and Messalonskee, the No. 3 seed, were tied at 8-8 when Orlando Holmes scored on a drive with 2:11 left in the first quarter.
But Lee Suvlu took a feed from Ian Edwards and canned a 3-pointer, kicking off an 8-0 run that gave Bangor the lead for good.
Bangor’s lead was 31-13 at intermission.
Ryan Weston led 7-0 Bangor offensively with 12 points, while Suvlu scored 10 and Billy Zolper added eight. Edwards grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, while Jon McAllian had five assists.
Holmes led 5-2 Messalonskee with 11 points and seven rebounds. Ray Bernier scored 10 points for the Eagles.
