ELLSWORTH – Striking a Balance organizers announce that the 11th forum in the subdivision-related workshop series is scheduled for 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the VFW Hall, 419 Main St.

The agenda will include a presentation on light pollution by Peter Lord of the Island Astronomy Institute. There also will be a presentation on state gravel mining regulations by Mark Stebbins, mining coordinator for the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.

A registration fee of $17 includes a light meal and materials. Participants must register by Jan. 25.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. for registrations and the meal.
