Commissioned officer

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Jared Davis graduated recently from Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Davis is the son of Roger and Patrice Davis of Brewer.

Basic training

SAN ANTONIO – Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Zachariah Johnson graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base. Johnson, a 2007 graduate of Hermon High School, is the son of Robert and Penny Johnson of Hermon.

FORT KNOX, Ky. – Army National Guard Pvt. Vernon Woods graduated from basic military training at Fort Knox, Ky., in September. He also graduated from the 169th Engineer Battalion at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. A 2007 graduate of Brewer High School, Woods is the son of Rosemary Pasteris of Eddington and the grandson of Vernon Doak of Eddington.

SAN ANTONIO – Air Force Airman Brendan Byrne graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base. Byrne is the son of Patrick Byrne of New Ipswich, N.H., and Susan Pope of Bangor.

SAN ANTONIO – Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Colby Robinson graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base. A 2007 graduate of Bangor Christian School, Robinson is the son of Philip and Lawna Robinson of Hermon.
