Army National Guard Pfc. Adam N. Hanson has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky. The trainee received instruction in weapons, rifle marksmanship, chemical warfare and other skills.

He is the son of Jeffrey Hanson of Searsmont and is a student at Belfast Area High School.

Army Reserve Pvt. Kyle C. Gero has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky. The trainee received instruction in several skills, including rifle marksmanship, bayonet training and chemical warfare.

He is the son of Dennis Gero of Milo and is a student at Penquis Valley High School in Milo.

Army National Guard Pvt. Mathieu T. Delaney has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky. He received instruction in skills including field training and tactical exercises.

He is the son of Flo Dionne of Burnham and is a student at Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield.

Christopher J. Horn has completed a U.S. Air Force ROTC field training encampment. The training gives students their first exposure to a working Air Force environment to learn and apply skills.

Horn is a student at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell. He is the son of Jo Anne Horn of Hampden.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Peter A. Wood has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. During training the airman received physical training and field training exercises. Wood is the son of Jeffrey and Susan Wood of Glenburn and is a 2006 graduate of Bangor High School.

Army Pvt. Dustin J. Gallagher has arrived for duty at Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas. Gallagher, an infantryman, is assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment.

He is the son of Ronald R. and Kerrie Gallagher of Hartland and is a 2005 graduate of Nokomis Regional High School in Newport.

Army National Guard Pvt. David A. Pearson has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. The soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction in weapons use, land navigation and field maneuvers and tactics.

He is the son of Mary Dumon of Frenchville and is a 2006 graduate of Wisdom High School in St. Agatha.

Air National Guard Airman Andrew T. Sinclair has graduated from Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. The airman studied the Air Force mission and received physical training.

He is the son of Tim Sinclair of Bangor and is a 2006 graduate of Bangor High School.

Army National Guard Pvt. Heather E. Beyenberg has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. She received training in military weapons, rifle marksmanship and basic first aid.

She is the daughter of William H. Beyenberg of Norway and Susan R. Manson of Eddington. She graduated from Brewer High School in 2007.

Army Reserve Pvt. Zachary L. Mitchell has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky. He received training in armed and unarmed combat, rifle marksmanship and military justice.

He is the son of Michael Mitchell of Detroit, Maine, and Diane Pickard of Prestonsburg, Ky. He attends Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield.

Army National Guard Pvt. Luke D. Noke has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky. The trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons and rifle marksmanship.

Noke is the son of Paul R. Noke Sr. of Brownville and Michelle Noke of Canaan. He attends Penquis Valley High School in Milo.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Jason I. Powers has been deployed to a forward operating base in Afghanistan to support the missions of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Powers, a fuel operations supervisor, is the son of Rhonda F. Birmingham and stepson of Gary R. Birmingham of Lincoln. He is a 1999 graduate of Schenck High School in East Millinocket.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Sean W. Bovee has returned to the U.S. after a deployment in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Bovee, an aerospace maintenance apprentice with two years of military service, is assigned to the 86th Maintenance Squadron, Ramstein Air Base, Kaiserslautern, Germany. He is the son of Tim and Patty Bovee of Brewer.

Army National Guard Private Thomas M. Bender has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky. He received training in chemical warfare and armed and unarmed combat.

He is the son of Tracy Hoglund of Medford and is a student at Penquis Valley High School in Milo.

Army National Guard Pvt. Brandon M. Briggs has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky. He received instruction in military justice, physical fitness and first aid.

He is the grandson of Dale and Nancy Archer of Lincoln and is a student at Mattanawcook Academy.
