Fitzpatrick, Risser lift Brewer by Skowhegan

BREWER – Dylan Fitzpatrick and Nick Risser each tallied two goals and two assists to power the Brewer Witches to an 8-2 Class A hockey victory over Skowhegan at the T.J. Ryan Center on Saturday.

Prentiss Swett registered two goals and an assist for 8-1 Brewer, while Dave McNally and Matt Helfen added a goal each. Ryan Nadeau racked up four assists.

Kayla Dunn made 14 saves on 16 shots.

Justin Enman paced Skowhegan with a goal and an assist, while Nate Powers scored one goal. Jimmy Quirion made 37 saves on 45 shots.

Girls basketball

Hampden 46, Brewer 35

At Hampden, Kayla Webb scored six of her 10 points in the fourth quarter to help lead Hampden Academy past Brewer to capture its first win.

Hamdpen went 11-for-16 at the foul line in the fourth quarter and outscored Brewer 22-11 in the period.

Michaela Stephenson led the Broncos with 13 points and Rylee Rawcliffe added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Katie Kenney paced the Witches with 14 points.

Bradford finished with 33 points with eight 3-pointers and BC totaled 14 as Kevin Caldwell added four and Tyler Alexander put in two.

Caldwell had 13 points and four assists while Alexander and Jared Theriault each added eight points. Jon Johnson grabbed eight rebounds.

Tom Cameron paced the Vikings with 20 points and Nate Adams chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds. Cory Parks also grabbed 11 rebounds.
