LANGDORF, Germany – Russell Currier of Stockholm hit nine of 10 targets to finish 10th overall in the junior men’s 10-kilometer sprint Sunday in a European Cup competition.

Currier, a 2006 Caribou High School graduate who is a member of the Maine Winter Sports Center team, missed just one shot in the standing stage of the race. He was 1 minute, 41 seconds behind winner Arnd Pfeiffer of Germany, who clocked a time of 26:58.

MWSC teammate Haley Johnson was 24th in the women’s 7.5K race, followed by Laura Spector in 40th. Spector also skies for the MWSC.

Currier had the top finish of the U.S. junior men Saturday in the 15K individual race. He hit 15 of 20 targets to place 18th, 5:06 out of first. Spector finished 26th with five penalties, and Johnson took 36th with eight missed shots in the 15K senior women’s race.
