AUGUSTA – Heating oil prices fell slightly in Maine last week, the first time in a month they’ve gone down.
In its weekly survey of heating fuel prices, the state energy office reports that the statewide price of heating oil averaged $3.34 a gallon on Monday. That’s down a penny from a week ago, but is $1.11 higher than last year at this time.
The highest average price was in eastern Maine. The lowest was in the northern region.
The average price of kerosene also fell by a penny in the past week, to $3.74 a gallon. But propane went up 4 cents a gallon, to $2.98.
