LEE – Hakeem Rodriguez scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Lee Academy boys basketball team handed Deer Isle-Stonington its first loss of the season, an 85-69 verdict Tuesday night.
Jarred Bingham and Luis Medina each posted 16 points for Lee Academy, which moved up to Class C this year. Devan Parker added 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Pandas.
Eben Powers led defending state Class D champion Deer Isle-Stonington with 28 points while Collin Ciomei had 24. Doug Boutilier chipped in with 11 for the Mariners, who had their 32-game winning streak ended.
