Former University of Maine ice hockey star Teddy Purcell, who was the Hockey East Rookie of the Year last season, made his National Hockey League debut Tuesday night for the Los Angeles Kings against the Oilers in Edmonton. The 23-year-old Purcell didn’t figure in the scoring but had three shots on goal in 12:26 of playing time. The Kings won 3-1.

Former Black Bear Dustin Penner scored for Edmonton, his 13th of the season.
