CALAIS – Courtney Hill scored eight points in a one-minute span in the fourth quarter as the Calais Blue Devils rallied from a nine-point deficit for a 63-61 girls basketball victory over previously unbeaten Lee Academy Wednesday night.
Hill sparked the late rally with a conventional three-point play, connected on a 3-pointer on Calais’ next possession then sank two free throws with 1:01 left to give the winners a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
Hill finished with 15 points and six assists for Calais, which trailed 51-42 entering the fourth quarter.
Kelli Cross scored a game-high 19 points for the Devils, who avenged a 30-point loss to the Pandas, while Nicole Osborne notched 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Karin Bird sparked Lee with 18 points. Aarika Ritchie and Amanda Gifford added 13 apiece.
