WASHBURN – Rachel Palmer’s bucket with 2.3 seconds left in regulation capped a Washburn rally as the Beavers came back from six points down in the final minute to earn a 41-40 girls basketball victory over greater Houlton Christian Tuesday night.

Kelsee McLaughlin had 13 points, nine rebounds and four steals for the Beavers. Erica McDougall had 10 rebounds, eight points and five steals and Palmer added eight rebounds.

Kasi Parker led the Eagles with 13 points and Sarah Riopel scored 11.

Sloat finished with 19 points and Carpenter had 11. Melissa Quint grabbed 14 rebounds, cousin Taylor Quint dished out five assists and Taylor Hovey made five steals as Hodgdon swept the season series.

Whitney Clark’s 14 points and Kristen Hebert’s 10 paced Fort Fairfield.
